Strictly speaking, it will be a 31 Day Challenge because of our inclusion of Day Zero, but I thought it worthwhile to give some background for users to understand who is taking part in this challenge.<\/p>\n<p>So of course there&#8217;s me, a seasoned IT professional who has been programming computers since age 11 and with a deep professional interest in information security.<\/p>\n<p>Then there&#8217;s Juan (not his real name) &#8211; he&#8217;s the CEO of a mid-sized company (approximately 60 employees). He has suffered from identity theft in the past and is keen to try to eliminate that threat from his future.<\/p>\n<p>Next is Diana (not her real name) &#8211; she&#8217;s a business management consultant and, in her own words &#8220;a complete Luddite with computers&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly there is Priscilla (not her real name or gender) &#8211; she&#8217;s the CFO of company run by Juan and is basically going through this process because of a bet with Juan.<\/p>\n<p>As you can see, none of the other Challengers have any great affinity for technology, and part of this challenge is to see how non-tech people get on with each day&#8217;s task.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow, we&#8217;ll get into the actual challenge and start making our lives more digitally secure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to the first day of the 30 Day Information Security Challenge.
